Mechanical Assembler
Zenix Aerospace is currently hiring a Mechanical Assembler for their 2nd shift (3:00pm - 11:30pm) at their Ketema facility in El Cajon, CA. About the Role
The Mechanical Assembler plays a crucial role in the assembly process, working closely with other team members to ensure that parts are assembled correctly and efficiently. This position requires a strong understanding of blueprints and engineering specifications, as well as proficiency in using a variety of hand and power tools.
Responsibilities
- Assembles and retrieves part kits from stores in preparation of part assembly.
- Performs assembly by fastening parts manually or using hand tools or portable powered tools.
- Makes detailed parts using hand or hydraulic machinery.
- Assembles, installs, aligns, adjusts, and fits sub-assemblies, parts, and/or auxiliary equipment using appropriate tools and equipment as per work instructions.
- Inspects parts and assemblies for quality compliance.
- Reads blueprints, schematics, or similar documentation, and builds to those specifications.
- Maintains inventory of parts and tools used in the assembling process.
- Provides feedback and input on potential new work.
- Communicates potential problems to Lead / Supervisor.
- Demonstrates ability to appear for work on time, follows directions from the supervisor, interacts well with co-workers, understands and follows work rules and procedures, complies with corporate policies, goals and objectives, accepts constructive feedback for improvement, establishes goals and objectives, and exhibits initiative and commitment.
- Uses knowledge to recommend improvements to parts, materials, processes and procedures used in the assembly process.
- Performs inventory counts, restocks selves and prepares obsolete or scrap parts for disposition as required.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Vocational training is a plus.
- Previous related manufacturing experience of 6 – 12 months preferred.
