Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assembles and reassembles pre-fitted parts based on standardized requirements using a variety of hand tools, measurement devices and power tools.
  • Fits and aligns parts to ensure free action of movable parts within operating requirements, including pumps, booms and belts.
  • Installs some or all of the following components: electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical, meeting the Putzmeister standard of high quality.
  • Performs one or more of the following: minor drilling, welding, and torching jobs.
  • Completes documentation checklists.
  • Ensures that all the components of the machine agree with the BOM.
  • Assists other Assemblers and Lead People as required.
  • Informs Supervisor and Lead People of problems including shortages and material or vendor quality issues.
  • Tests installed components to ensure they are working properly and advises the Supervisor or Team Leader of any discrepancies.
  • Assembles conveyor assembly and mounting after the truck comes back from the painting department, followed by the final stability test.
  • Ensures that the work area is orderly, clean and safe on a daily basis.
  • Maintains Putzmeister America’s high standards of quality.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed.

    Qualifications

    • Demonstrated mechanical assembly skills.
    • A high standard of attention to detail.
    • Able to read and understand some or all of the following: hydraulic drawings, electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and photo stories.
    • Experienced in the use of hydraulic presses and/or overhead cranes.
    • Must supply personal set of basic tools.

      Education/Certification/Training

      • A high school diploma or GED.
      • Previous experience in manufacturing helpful.

        Work Environment/Physical Demands

        • The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
        • Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials.
        • The noise level in this environment is frequently loud.
        • Ability to continuously stand or walk; and the ability to bend, squat, climb stairs and lift frequently.
        • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
