Mechanical Assembler

Job Requirements

• Reads and follows entry-level blueprints, shop orders, specifications, and other instructions.
• Measures parts accurately using scales, micrometers, and calipers.
• Utilizes overhead crane and rigging procedures.
• Operates material handling equipment.
• Maintains a clean work area.

Occasional Job Responsibilities

• Prepares parts for painting.
• Department clean up and improvement projects.

Job Requirements

• Education: Generally equivalent to a High School diploma.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and make metric system conversions.
• Reading and Understanding: Knowledge and ability to read and understand blueprints and other manufacturing instructions.
• Tool Usage: Knowledge and ability to use hand tools and machine tools such as drill press, band saw, cut-off saw, and grinder.
• Communication: Good oral and written communication skills to interact with employees.
• Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as a team.
• Solution Development: Ability to collaborate with others (including in-person) to proactively develop solutions.
• Organization: Good organizational skills.
• CAD Knowledge: Basic knowledge of CAD documents preferred.
• Material Handling Equipment: Ability to operate material handling equipment preferred.
• Carpentry, Electrical, Pneumatics: Basic knowledge of carpentry, electrical, and pneumatics a plus.
• Travel: Ability to travel internationally and domestically preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Protective Clothing Required: Safety glasses, ear protection, gloves, safety shoes.
• Physical Demands: Sit, climb or balance, reach above shoulders, stoop, etc.
