Mechanic- Maintenance 1st shift - 5am -1:30p

About the role

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for proactively maintaining operation of machinery and mechanical equipment through preventive/predictive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Assist to install and service different pieces of equipment, using required self-supplied and company-supplied hand tools
• Perform assigned preventive maintenance tasks
• Move and raise components using hoists, dollies, or other provided equipment
• Update daily work communications
• Maintain tools, powered vehicles, and equipment; keep parts and supplies in order
• Maintain a clean and hazard-free work area throughout the entire day
• Use and maintain safety equipment on job sites
• Execute job order assignments and keep accurate job order records
• Follow applicable safety and environment requirements, food safety, and GMPs
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent knowledge and skills acquired through on-the-job training or experience
• Previous maintenance experience preferred but willing to train
• Mechanically inclined
• Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge
• Computer and technology aptitude
• Must be able to read and understand various methods of mechanical and other technical drawings
• Basic knowledge of the correct use and care of various tools used in maintenance work
• Must be able to follow procedures as outlined in equipment manufacturer's maintenance manuals
• Basic knowledge of gas, arc, and/or TIG welding
• Basic knowledge of diagnosing equipment failures and correcting them
• Familiarity with air compressors, various pumps, boilers, and other common mechanical equipment

Work Environment

• Must be able to climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crawl, and stand for long periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. for short distances
• Comfortable working with heights and in confined spaces
• Comfortable working in non-climate-controlled environments

Pay

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $31.50 to $36.24, with offers based on skills-testing performance, education, experience, and internal equity among other factors. This role is eligible for overtime pay for hours worked beyond 40 hours in a week and may also be eligible for additional hourly premiums for perfect attendance and/or working evening or night shifts.
