Pay
- $29.44 to $35.78 per hour
- 5% shift differential for workdays beginning between 2:00 p.m. and 4:30 a.m.
About the role
Under supervision of the Director of Transportation, performs skilled work at the journeyman level in the maintenance and repair of school buses, cars, and related equipment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair school buses, cars, and related equipment
Requirements
- Minimum of two years of experience in vehicle maintenance and repair, including one year in heavy gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles
- Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school supplemented by courses in vehicle repair and equipment technology
- Current California Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a passenger endorsement
- Standard heavy-duty vehicle mechanic tool set
Upon Conditional Offer of Employment
- DOJ and FBI Criminal Background Check
- TB Test within the last 60 days (Education Code 49406, Assembly Bill 1667)
- Complete district Mandated Reporter training, Sexual Harassment, etc.
