Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on construction equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance and routine service on diesel engines and heavy equipment
- Repair and replace defective parts, components, and systems
- Inspect equipment for safety and operational performance
- Troubleshoot engine, transmission, brake, steering, and fuel systems
- Maintain accurate service and repair records
- Operate diagnostic tools and repair equipment
- Respond to field service calls and emergency breakdowns when needed
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety procedures
- Test equipment after repairs to verify proper operation
Qualifications
- At least 5+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic or heavy equipment mechanic
- Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
- Ability to read service manuals
- Current and valid driver’s license
- Basic mechanic tools
