Mechanic II

Location: Manchester, CT (1339 Tolland Turnpike)

About the role

Perform routine repairs and preventive maintenance (PM's) on equipment. Work productively, safely, and learn skills through training and job shadowing.

Responsibilities

• Enter work into the computer maintenance system throughout the shift and use the system to review repeat repairs and previous work on equipment.
• Safely shut down systems you have been trained on.
• Perform simple tasks without instruction or guidance.
• Ensure all equipment meets standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
• Progress to Mechanic III through education and/or demonstrated ability.
• Perform repairs independently after instruction from a Mechanic III.
• Serve as a resource to others in resolving complex problems.
• Work in difficult body positions and environmental conditions as needed.
• Learn more complex tasks as experience is gained.

Requirements

• Mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
• Dexterity with both hands.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and be on call.
• Must supply your own tools.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent diploma.
• Prior experience in mechanical areas is desired.
