About the role

The Mechanic I is responsible for basic repairs, calibration, and maintenance on equipment. This position will lead the team in equipment diagnosis and repairs, directing and assisting Assemblers to further their knowledge and understanding of troubleshooting and equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Completion of activity-based repairs and service requirements as delineated on sales change orders.
• Install various equipment accessories (decals, mud flaps, cameras, lights).
• Follow verbal and written work instructions.
• Attention to detail necessary to adhere to quality standards.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Basic knowledge of DC electricity and hydraulics, including basic print understanding.
• Basic computer skills and ability to use an iPad or laptop to input findings guided by user-friendly programs.
• Basic understanding and usage of tools such as Multimeter, pressure tester, and analyzer.
• Learn to drive and use a forklift.
• Lift safe and permissible weight.
• Withstand standing all day and walking long distances.
• Stoop and work at low positions.
• Aid in maintaining inventory accuracy through data entry.
• Work overtime and/or 7 days a week as needed.
• Regular attendance required.
• Perform all other assigned duties and responsibilities.

Requirements

• 1 year of basic experience with hydraulics, electrical, gas, and diesel systems.
• Strong math skills and basic mechanical aptitude.
• Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance, in-person and on-site.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Working Conditions

• Based in a manufacturing or production environment; may involve exposure to loud noise, dust, moving machinery, or temperature fluctuations.
• Requires standing for extended periods, repetitive motions, lifting/carrying up to 35 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds, and sustained carrying up to 30 pounds.
• Involves bending, kneeling, climbing, or using tools and equipment.
• Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn when required.
• Visual and auditory acuity needed for safe equipment operation and effective communication in a busy workspace.
