Mechanic Helper

Pay

Starting Pay: $21.00 per hour.

Skills and Qualifications

• Clean driving record
• Basic knowledge of lube & oil
• Ability to read and understand technical service manuals, repair orders, labels, and gauges (in English)
• Ability to write service orders
• Ability to communicate verbally (in English) using telephone for ordering parts and supplies
• Possession of a valid driver’s license for at least 3 years and ability to drive both automatic and standard transmission vehicles from 2,000 to 50,000 lb in size
• Unrestricted ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, squat, lift (up to 50 lb), push, pull, climb, and lie on back in a horizontal position for prolonged periods
• Ability to hoist any size vehicle with a lift device (vehicle jack) using foot and arm pumping motion
• Ability to lift and hold parts in position while lying on back in a horizontal position on a concrete floor

• Lift 25 lb vertical lift from 10 in to 66 in (1 time)
• Lift‑Carry 18 lb vertical lift from 1 in to 44 in and horizontally transfer 15 ft (4 times)
• Lift 18 lb vertical lift from 10 in to 36 in and horizontally transfer 300 ft (1 time)
• Lift 50 lb vertical lift from 10 in to 36 in and horizontally transfer 2 ft (2 times)
• Push‑Pull: horizontally transfer 47 lb of force on a sled (single, non‑dominant arm) a distance of 1 ft (2 times)
• Repetitive Coupling: squeeze Jamar hand dynamometer requiring forces up to 30 lb for both right & left hands (4 times)
• Climb: ascend/descend a step with heights of 16, 21 & 24 in (10 times)
