Mechanic Helper

About the role

Join our team in McLean, VA as a Mechanic Helper, supporting various skilled tradesmen in a range of tasks from simple to complex under general direction.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 5:30 AM–2:00 PM

Responsibilities

• Assist tradesmen in any or all of tradesmen’s work from simple to complex tasks.

Requirements

• Ability to comprehend written and oral instructions.
• Willingness to work rotational shifts if necessary, including days, evenings, nights, overtime, weekends, and holidays.
• Experience in work related to building maintenance or construction.
• High school, trade school, vocational school graduate or equivalent.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret US Government Clearance (US Citizenship required).

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to write correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.

Physical Demands

• Operate industrial machinery, power tools, and motor vehicles.
• Perform tasks requiring walking, bending, squatting, and carrying materials throughout the facility.
• Follow strict safety guidelines and use Personal Protective Equipment.
• Lifting weight over 50 pounds requires two or more persons.

Other Responsibilities

• Safety: Continuously develop and maintain a safe work environment, complete all training requirements, fulfill self-aid/buddy aid responsibilities, participate in emergency response tasks, and serve on safety committees and teams.
• Quality: Consistently provide services that meet customer expectations and comply with Amentum Quality System documents and customer contracts.
• Procedure Compliance: Read, understand, and implement all operational, safety, quality, and environmental requirements of plans, procedures, and policies pertaining to the job.

This position is designated as safety-sensitive. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of drug screening, including pre-hire screening for marijuana and other federally controlled substances.

Pay

$27.46 per hour
