About the role

The Mechanic/Heavy Duty Vehicle Technician will diagnose and repair diesel engines, powertrain components, air brakes, steering and suspension systems, electrical systems, and diesel emission systems.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM start. Overnight positions include a $2.00 per hour shift differential. Paid overtime at time and a half after 40 hours per week.

Pay

$20.00–$33.00 per hour, based on experience. Full-time positions include a $10,000 sign-on bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Use scan tool and laptop technology for diagnostics
  • Follow instructions from shift leader
  • Work independently or as part of a team
  • Perform routine truck inspections and maintenance of fleet equipment
  • Maintain a clean and effective work environment
  • Provide own tools or obtain tools to complete job functions
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • 2 years of technical instruction in diesel or auto mechanics (preferred)
  • Valid CDL Class A driver’s license OR willingness to complete Company-paid CDL training
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical exam
  • Must be able to stand for a minimum of eight hours
  • Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, walk, and drive
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check

Skills

  • Welding and torch experience (a plus but not required)
  • Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle or willingness to learn
