Overview A fully trained shop mechanic responsible for performing trailer repairs, routine maintenance, and minor refrigeration unit repairs. The role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines, trailers, and refrigeration systems, including electrical and mechanical work such as replacing clutches, water pumps, tires, and brake systems. The mechanic must read technical manuals, operate shop tools, and complete documentation accurately. Key Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on trailers and refrigeration units.Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.Conduct wheel and axle alignments, cooling system diagnostics, and engine repairs.Operate cutting and welding equipment and adhere to safety protocols.Maintain tools, complete paperwork, and communicate effectively with team members. Qualifications & Skills High School Diploma or GED; trade school in diesel or refrigeration preferred.At least 2 years of experience in diesel repairs and refrigeration maintenance.Basic hand tools and valid driver’s license; ASE certification in medium/heavy truck PMI preferred.Certifications in refrigeration, brake systems, and electrical diagnostics are advantageous.Strong problem-solving, organization, teamwork, and attention to detail skills.
