The Role
Must Have:
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining various types of machinery and equipment
- Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
- Experience with troubleshooting mechanical issues
Nice to Have:
- Experience with automation systems
- Hands-on experience with welding and fabrication
- Strong problem-solving skills
About the Role
HII’s Newport News Shipbuilding division is seeking an Outside Machinist to join their team. This position is located in Goose Creek, South Carolina.
Responsibilities
Operate and maintain various types of machinery and equipment to support production processes.
Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to perform tasks accurately.
Follow safety procedures and regulations to ensure a safe work environment.
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment.
Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues to ensure smooth operation of production processes.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license.
Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
Qualifications
At least 2 years of related experience in a manufacturing or machining environment.
Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Skills
Proficiency in operating and maintaining various types of machinery and equipment.
Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
Problem-solving skills.
