The Role

About the Role
HII’s Newport News Shipbuilding division is seeking an Outside Machinist to join their team. This position is located in Goose Creek, South Carolina.
Responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance and repair on machinery and equipment.
Operate and maintain various types of machinery and equipment, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and other cutting tools.
Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine proper machining procedures.
Ensure all work adheres to safety protocols and quality standards.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license.
At least 2 years of related experience in outside machining or a similar field.
Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
Physical ability to perform tasks in a manufacturing environment.
Qualifications
