About the role

Deliver meals to PACE participants homes and satellite PACE facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver meals in a timely manner to maintain correct holding temperatures
  • Maintain accurate record of meals, temperature logs and vehicle mileage
  • Follow food safety guidelines to promote safe food handling, which include, but are not limited to the practice personal hygiene, hand washing, and wearing caps or hair nets
  • Assist in packaging and packing of meals as needed
  • Assist with food preparation as needed
  • Assist with meals in Day Center as needed
  • May work at satellite facilities as needed
  • Maintain a clean vehicle and follow up with routine maintenance
  • Adhere to all Family Health Center for Older Adults PACE Policies and Procedures
  • Observes HIPAA guidelines
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all company procedures, results, and information about participants, clients, or families
  • Apply universal precautions and adheres to appropriate Infection Control procedures
  • Ensure compliance with all state, federal and local regulations
  • Maintain a safe working environment
  • Participates in continuing education classes and any required staff and training meetings
  • Participates in and supports Quality Improvement Initiatives
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the skills, knowledge and ability to perform the essential job duties, and which meets any required state or federal certification requirements
  • Food Handler Permit required upon hire or obtained within 90 days of hire
  • Requires an active California driver's license for the class required for operation of assigned vehicle
  • Traveling between sites and other locations is required as an essential function of the job
  • Must have a car, a valid California driver's license, and proof of minimum levels of car insurance as required under California law, although limits of $100,000 are recommended
  • An acceptable driving record is also required
  • California law requires all drivers to obtain a valid California driver's license within ten days of establishing residency
  • Mileage and other reimbursement governed by policy

Qualifications

  • 1-year related experience preferred
  • Knowledge of the San Diego area and surrounding communities
  • Ability to drive in all types of traffic, roads, and weather conditions
  • Must be able to communicate with and relate to a diverse staff and clients in a courteous and professional manner
  • Demonstrated ability to meet goals, multitask and perform duties in a timely fashion

Pay

$21.00 - $23.00
