Job Summary
Marlborough Hills Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, a 186-bed skilled nursing facility in Marlborough, is seeking a dynamic and experienced RN MDS Director to join our team. As the RN MDS Director, you will play a crucial role in planning, organizing, and directing the MDS process, ensuring that our residents receive high-quality care and services.
Responsibilities
- Cook up the MDS process, including assessing resident care plans, completing MDS reports, and transmitting them to CMS
- Oversee ADL training for facility and staff
- Issue and deliver denial notices timely and appropriately
- Complete and transmit all CMS-approved item sets (MDS)
- Ensure compliance with facility privacy policies and procedures
- Maintain Medicare meeting minutes and issue Medicare denial letters per CMS regulations
- Afford appropriate management of residents’ Medicare/Insurance benefits
- Maintain adequate systems to ensure appropriate documents are sufficient to support billed services
- Perform other duties assigned by manager
Requirements
- Must possess a Nursing Degree from an accredited school of nursing, college or university
- Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as an RN in this state
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such an action
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public
- Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care
- Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel
- Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents
