MDS Coordinator LPN/RN
About the role
The MDS Nurse is an LPN or RN responsible for overseeing, coordinating, maintaining, and timely completing the MDS, resident care plans, and medical records for residents. Duties include ensuring MDSs are completed according to HCFA and Medicare guidelines, monitoring electronic submission compliance with state regulations, participating in family/resident care plan conferences, and encouraging rehabilitative techniques.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates, conducts, and completes the MDS, resident care plans and conferences on the computerized system.
- Ensures MDS electronic submission occurs in accordance with State regulations.
- Participates in family/resident care plan conferences.
- Assures effective communication with other shifts and departments as it relates to medical record documentation.
- Encourages rehabilitative techniques in order to restore residents' independence.
- Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
- Performs specific work duties and responsibilities assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
- Current LPN or RN Florida License
- Current CPR certification, AHA or BLS
- In-depth experience and knowledge working with MDS computer software
- Experience with the MDS transmittal process and understanding of regulations impacting the MDS
- Supervisory experience preferred

- RN: $76,000 - $87,000
