Responsibilities
- Captures and tracks Medicare/Medicaid case-mix documents and care assessments.
- Achieves maximum allowable RUG categories through concurrent MDS completion.
- Integrates information from various departments to ensure appropriate reimbursement.
- Coordinates and facilitates care conferences with the interdisciplinary team.
- Completes, reviews, and educates staff on the Minimum Data Sets (MDS) process.
- Ensures compliance with current MDS/PPS updates and staff training.
- Cross-trains between PPS and OBRA functions.
- Conducts regular resident interviews as required by the MDS.
- Available to respond to clinical emergencies, regulatory agency visits, surveys, and issues outside of normal work hours.
Qualifications
- Active nursing license in the State of Connecticut, required.
- RN preferred.
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance/Improvement processes, required.
- Bachelor's or Associate degree in a health care related field, preferred.
- Experience in a supervisory position in long-term care, preferred.
- At least 2 years long-term care experience.
- At least 3 months experience completing MDS and MDS training program or equivalent experience and knowledge of PPS, preferred.
