MDF Finishing Operator Trainee

About the Role

To become fully qualified to perform one or more operators' jobs in the MDF finishing area, including Energy Plant, Refiner, and Press Operator. The Finishing Operator Trainee assists equipment operators with day-to-day tasks, performs assignments in accordance with PDM, conducts routine and complicated equipment checks, and maintains the production area in a clean and organized fashion.

Responsibilities

• Assist equipment operators with daily tasks in the MDF finishing area.
• Perform assignments in accordance with PDM (Production Data Management).
• Conduct routine and complicated equipment checks.
• Maintain the production area in a clean and organized manner.

Requirements

• Ability to read and comprehend technical work instructions.
• Ability to operate or learn to operate heavy machinery.
• Experience working with electric, pneumatic, or hand tools.
• Ability to be trained and certified to operate a forklift.
• Ability to comprehend and manipulate metric measurements.
• Ability to work effectively with other team members.
• Ability to work without constant supervision.
• Ability to creatively problem-solve, individually or as part of a group.
• Ability to work in extreme heat and cold.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance.
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders at a safe but rapid pace.

Qualifications

• Perfect or near-perfect attendance record (preferred).
• Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment (preferred).

This is a rotating shift position.
