MDF Finishing/Packing Operator

About the role

Perform all tasks involved in packaging MDF/HDF product through the safe operation of packaging and banding equipment according to required specifications. Conduct basic, routine equipment maintenance and cleaning on all machinery and workspaces in the area of responsibility. Identify unacceptable product conditions and initiate corrective action. Assist maintenance personnel in troubleshooting, repair, or preventive maintenance of equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate packaging and banding equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain and clean machinery and workspaces.
• Identify and address unacceptable product conditions.
• Assist in troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of equipment.
• Work collaboratively with team members and other departments.

Requirements

• Ability to read and comprehend technical work instructions.
• Ability to operate or learn to operate heavy machinery.
• Experience working with electric, pneumatic, or hand tools.
• Ability to be trained and certified to operate a forklift.
• Understanding and ability to work with metric measurements.
• Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
• Creative problem-solving skills, individually or as part of a team.
• Ability to work in extreme heat and cold.
• Ability to meet physical job requirements.

Qualifications

• Perfect or near-perfect attendance record (preferred).
• Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment (preferred).

This is a rotating shift position.
