McClure Elementary 21st Century Afterschool Program Youth Development Specialist

About the Role

Assist with identifying struggling students in grades K-5 who would benefit from small group assistance during guided independent reading/math practice and/or with tutorials.

Participate in all training related to the components of the support you will be implementing. Assist 21st Century tutors in administering pre- and post-assessments, as appropriate. Work with 21st Century tutors and site supervisor to implement 21st Century programming.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Be at least eighteen years of age
• Meet the minimum requirement for a paraprofessional: hold an associate of arts degree, have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at an institution of higher learning, or have passed the state paraeducator assessment
• Job-related experience is desired

Pay

$19.25 - $25.27 per hour (depending on experience)

Schedule

• 4 days per week
• 3 hours per day
• Temporary for the 2026-2027 school year

Work Environment

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and some fine finger dexterity. The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and in a generally hazard-free environment.
