About the role

As a Mazak Integrex Machinist, you will play a crucial role in our manufacturing process. Your primary responsibility will be to set up and operate Mazak Integrex mill-turn machining centers, ensuring precise and accurate measurements for our products. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in CNC machining and a passion for precision engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of a supervisor and/or experienced machinist, produce quality parts on CNC Mazak Integrex mill-turn machines in a timely, safe, and efficient manner.
  • Operate, perform set-up changes, and conduct first article inspections on production runs utilizing CNC machines.
  • Load parts using overhead lifting equipment, operate controls, set offsets, perform simple edits, deburr, and inspect quality parts for conformance to requirements.
  • Identify problems before production runs, then start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions; adjust machine controls or control media as required.
  • Use precision measuring instruments, read blueprints, and review job orders to determine dimensions, tolerance, and tooling requirements.
  • Maintain knowledge of dimensions and tolerances for tooling instructions such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut, and cutting tools.
  • Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly; perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment.
  • Identify and correctly utilize Capto tool holders, mill tooling, turning tools, and inserts.
  • Read blueprints and use precision measuring instruments including profilometers, dial indicators, depth gauges, OD/ID micrometers, and groove micrometers.
  • Maintain tight tolerances, often +/-0.0005.
  • Work to a dispatch report and ensure jobs are run in the proper sequence.
  • Ensure proper machining of product so that items sent to the next operation are within specification; produce high-quality products that fully meet specifications.
  • Maintain area and equipment, manage your own workflow, and meet safety, quality, delivery, and productivity measures.
  • Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
  • Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Knowledge of basic math, blueprints, and routers.
  • Knowledge of the proper use of measuring tools/gauges and cutting tools.
  • 3–5 years of combined CNC mill and CNC lathe experience or 5-axis experience preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate a strong work ethic and teamwork.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to sit or stand, bend, and reach.
  • Regularly required to operate a computer and other office machinery using finger dexterity for typing and writing.
  • Regularly required to communicate, converse, and exchange information verbally and in writing.
  • Regularly required to perform light physical effort to lift or move lightweight materials up to 40 pounds.
  • Regularly required to view a computer screen.
