About the Role
NOV Pressure Control Group is seeking a CNC Machinist with Mazak experience for a 2nd shift position at 12950 West Little York Road. This role involves operating and controlling computer numerically controlled (CNC) machines, primarily Mazak Intergrex machine tools, with expertise in Mazatrol and EIA programming. The machinist will handle setups, programming, and training while ensuring safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Produce quality parts on CNC machines, including lathes and milling machines, in a timely, safe, and efficient manner.
- Perform set-up changes and first article inspections on production runs using CNC machines.
- Load parts using overhead lifting equipment, prove tapes, operate controls, set offsets, make simple edits, deburr, and inspect parts for conformance to requirements.
- Identify and resolve problems before production runs, monitor machine operation for malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions, and adjust controls as needed.
- Read blueprints, precision measuring instruments, and job orders to determine dimensions, tolerances, and tooling requirements.
- Maintain knowledge of dimensions, tolerances, and tooling instructions, including fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut, and cutting tools.
- Prove out new programs and make simple edits to NC programs on numerically controlled machines.
- Keep equipment and work area clean, perform basic preventative maintenance, and comply with all NOV and HSE policies.
- Train new employees and cross-train on other machine tools as needed.
- Set up and operate midsize to large Mazak multi-axis mill-turn machine tools, including programming tool paths using Mazatrol at the machine site.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of basic math, blueprints, and routers.
- Proficiency in using measuring tools/gauges and cutting tools.
- 5 or more years of relevant experience.
- Ability to read and understand machine code terminology, G&M codes.
- Experience with Mazak Intergrex machines, including live milling and fifth-axis capabilities.
- Familiarity with Mazatrol and EIA programming.
