Maverick Casino & Hotel Elko - Maintenance Technician

Starting pay rate: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour. Full-time position with day or swing shift availability. Housing options available after 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Perform general, preventive, and emergency maintenance of the hotel, including restaurants, front desk, rooms, parking, lobbies, casino, restrooms, and elevators.
• Respond to guest calls and work orders; log and follow up on work orders and complete paperwork.
• Repair or replace broken equipment and troubleshoot problems.
• Maintain a safe work environment for self, co-workers, and guests.
• Lift and carry materials daily; distance and height vary by task.
• Perform basic preventative maintenance and develop skills in safety, PPE, hotel locks, drain snaking, pool equipment, room PM, general plumbing, general electrical, and scissor lift operation.
• Handle intermediate tasks in plumbing, electrical, garbage compactor, boilers, chiller, and cooling tower maintenance.
• Operate backup generator, snow plow with 4-wheeler, sweeper, forklift, backhoe, and perform carpentry and mechanical repairs.
• Perform advanced tasks if certified in HVAC, advanced electrical, or advanced plumbing.
• Follow cleaning schedules and procedures to meet high cleanliness and sanitation standards.
• Collect, transport, and properly store or dispose of trash, soiled linens, and biohazardous waste according to policy.
• Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies in good condition.
• Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and guidelines at all times.
• Perform related and other duties as required.

Requirements

• Possess a valid Driver’s License.
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, refrigeration, heating, air-conditioning, exhaust fans, cooling towers, chillers, and boilers.
• Ability to perform repairs in hotel, kitchen, and laundry areas, maintain swimming pools to meet health code requirements, and handle general landscaping.
• Ability to operate power tools and equipment following proper safety requirements.
• Good writing, communication, and customer relations skills.
• Must be polite and courteous when in direct contact with guests.
