About the role

The Junto is a modern‑day embodiment of Ben Franklin’s club, offering a public gathering space where visitors, locals, entrepreneurs, and artists can exchange ideas and inspire one another. As a destination and landmark in Columbus, The Junto seeks a passionate coffee expert to craft exceptional beverages and deliver outstanding service. The Lead Barista will prepare high‑quality drinks, guide guests through menu offerings, and provide personalized recommendations based on preferences.

Responsibilities

• Assist with inventory management, including ordering and ensuring the store remains fully stocked at all times.
• Maintain Drug Store Coffee standards and ensure the team keeps a clean, organized, and guest‑ready space.
• Manage employee discounts and collect runner tip‑outs as needed in accordance with company policies.
• Assign cleaning and side‑work tasks during slower periods to maintain operational efficiency.
• Restock the grab‑and‑go refrigerator with required beverages and food items.
• Support the development and execution of specialty beverages, including recipe builds, pricing, and presentation standards.
• Serve as the acting lead in the absence of the Coffee Shop Supervisor, ensuring smooth daily operations.
• Assist with training new team members and uphold consistent service, quality, and operational standards across the team.

Requirements

• Prior experience as a barista is highly preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of coffee, tea, and other drink recipes.
• Proactive and thoughtful nature.
• Professional demeanor.
