What if your expertise in advanced mathematics could directly shape how AI reasons, solves problems, and thinks quantitatively for millions of people around the world? We're looking for Mathematics experts — Masters and PhD level — to work with leading AI research teams and help train the next generation of AI models. You'll apply your deep knowledge of algebra, calculus, statistics, or discrete mathematics to challenge AI systems in ways that make them genuinely smarter and more rigorous. This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for mathematicians who want to do meaningful work on their own schedule. Training and onboarding support is provided.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, solve, and review advanced mathematical problems with real-world relevance and depth
  • Design complex problem statements that challenge and improve AI reasoning across mathematical domains
  • Evaluate AI-generated mathematical solutions for rigor, accuracy, and clarity
  • Apply expertise in algebra, calculus, statistics, discrete mathematics, or related fields to inform AI training
  • Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and domain experts
  • Ensure all deliverables meet high standards of mathematical precision and quality

Requirements

  • Hold a Master's or PhD in Mathematics or a closely related field
  • Deep expertise in one or more of: algebra, calculus, statistics, or discrete mathematics
  • Proficient in Python, MATLAB, Mathematica, or similar tools for mathematical work
  • Exceptional written communicator — you can explain complex concepts with clarity and precision
  • Detail-oriented with a rigorous, methodical approach to problem-solving
  • Fluent in English

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience with data annotation, data quality, or AI evaluation systems
  • Background in academic research, applied mathematics, or computational work
  • Experience writing or reviewing mathematical content for educational or research purposes
