Math Teacher's Aid

About the role

• Work as a Tutor, supporting 6th grade students in Middle School Math (up to Pre-Algebra, Algebra, and Geometry).
• Support students in Special Education with IEPs.
• Provide small group tutoring sessions using the provided curriculum and learning technology.
• Manage classroom dynamics to ensure a conducive learning environment.
• Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.

Requirements

• Hold a Florida teaching credential OR a bachelor's degree with a Statement of Eligibility issued by the Florida Department of Education (ESE Certificate).
• Classroom experience teaching or supporting reading instruction.
• Direct experience supporting Special Education students.
• Experience using the Science of Reading (or a strong willingness to be trained).
• Ability to meet DOJ/FBI fingerprint clearance requirements and complete fingerprinting within 48 hours of an offer.
• Ability to provide a negative tuberculosis (TB) test within 2 weeks of hire.
• Ability to provide 3 professional references.
• Detail-oriented, highly dependable, effective communicator, with reliable transportation and a passion for learning, teaching, and empowering students.

Schedule

• In-person, Wednesdays & Thursdays at Greenwood Lakes Middle School (Lake Mary, FL 32746).
• Starts in September.
• Part-time, 2x per week, 6 hours per day with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break during the school day.

Pay

$29–30 per hour based on experience.
