The Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform has thousands of students looking for online tutors nationally. As a Texas Certified Teacher on the Varsity Tutors Platform, you'll bring your classroom expertise to a flexible, remote tutoring environment—setting your own schedule, earning competitive rates, and making a real impact on students' lives, all from the comfort of your home.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized 1‑on‑1 online tutoring to individual students.
• Accept on‑demand tutoring requests whenever you're available.
• Tutor remotely using the purpose‑built Live Learning Platform.

Requirements

• Active Texas Teaching Certificate (current, active certificate issued by the Texas Education Agency).
• Subject matter expertise in your certified area(s), with the ability to connect K‑12 curriculum concepts to student needs across grade levels and learning goals.
• Demonstrated classroom teaching experience in a Texas setting, with a strong understanding of TEKS standards and how to apply them in one‑on‑one instruction.
• Skill in conceptual teaching and adaptive instruction: diagnosing student gaps, adjusting pacing and approach, and explaining concepts through multiple methods.
• Ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with, explain material using multiple approaches, and adapt instruction to individual learning needs and styles.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.

Pay

Earn up to $40/hour, with pay increasing incrementally for each session with the same student. Payments are issued up to twice per week.

Schedule

Set your own hours and tutor as much as you’d like; fully remote, no commuting required.
