As a Texas Certified Teacher on the Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform, you'll bring your classroom expertise to a flexible, remote tutoring environment—setting your own schedule, earning competitive rates, and making a real impact on students' lives, all from the comfort of your home. The platform matches thousands of students nationwide with tutors for personalized 1‑on‑1 online tutoring and instant on‑demand sessions.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized 1‑on‑1 online tutoring to individual students.
• Accept instant tutoring requests when you are available.
• Set your own tutoring schedule and decide how many sessions to conduct.
• Invoice for completed tutoring sessions; Varsity Tutors handles payment processing.
• Use the purpose‑built Live Learning Platform (including AI‑powered Tutor Copilot) to deliver instruction.

Requirements

• Active Texas Teaching Certificate issued by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) – certificate number required for verification.
• Deep subject‑matter expertise in your certified area(s) and ability to connect K‑12 curriculum concepts to student needs across grade levels.
• Demonstrated classroom teaching experience in a Texas school, with strong understanding of TEKS standards.
• Skill in diagnosing student gaps, adjusting pacing and approach, and explaining concepts through multiple methods.
• Ability to identify common student struggles, explain material using multiple approaches, and adapt instruction to individual learning needs and styles.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.

Skills

Pay
