About the role
We are seeking a High School Math Interventionist to support students in Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry.
Responsibilities
- Provide targeted math intervention support for high school students in Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry.
- Work with at-risk students who need additional support to pass State Assessments and End-of-Course exams.
- Analyze benchmark, diagnostic, progress monitoring, and EOC data to identify student needs and instructional gaps.
- Create small-group math lesson plans and intervention resources for teachers.
- Provide direct student support through push-in and pull-out intervention models.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to align interventions with current math instruction and student needs.
- Assist the Assistant Principal with testing preparation, organization, administration, and data review.
- Develop and maintain Excel spreadsheets, student data trackers, and schoolwide progress monitoring tools.
- Maintain accurate documentation of interventions, student progress, and assessment data.
- Support a positive school culture focused on student achievement, accountability, and growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field preferred.
- High school teaching or intervention experience strongly preferred.
- Experience teaching or supporting Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry.
- Experience working with at-risk youth and students requiring academic intervention.
- Knowledge of State Assessments, EOC expectations, and benchmark data analysis.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including creating spreadsheets, trackers, filters, formulas, and data reports.
- Ability to interpret student performance data and use it to plan targeted instruction.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, administrators, and support staff.
Preferred Skills And Abilities
- Strong background in math intervention strategies.
- Ability to create engaging, skill-based small-group lessons.
- Experience with diagnostic assessments, benchmark testing, and progress monitoring.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple data systems.
- Ability to motivate and build relationships with students who may be academically behind.
- Flexible, solutions-oriented, and able to adapt instruction based on student needs.
