About the role
We are seeking an individual with a high level of initiative who enjoys a challenging, fast-paced work environment where every day is different. This position is essential to ensuring the reduction of congenital syphilis and perinatal HIV throughout Missouri.
Responsibilities
- Initiating and completing investigations on reportable STI/HIV infections amongst pregnant persons, including interviewing those infected or at risk of infection.
- Assuring appropriate testing and treatment of pregnant persons with STI/HIV infections.
- Providing support, guidance, and health education regarding STI/HIV best practices according to CDC guidelines to LPHA staff, community-based organizations, and other stakeholders throughout Missouri.
- Aiding other members of the disease investigation team, as needed.
- Notifying sex and needle-sharing partners of their exposure and need for testing and/or treatment.
- Conducting HIV, syphilis and Hepatitis C specimen collection and providing both positive and negative results.
- Aiding the regional supervisor and program supervisor with quality assurance and improvement projects, as requested.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two or more years of experience OR a master's degree from an accredited college or university
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a working knowledge of public health functions and essential services
- This position requires professionalism, excellent attention to detail, initiative, flexibility, discretion, and the strict maintenance of confidentiality
- The candidate should be comfortable with having sexually explicit discussions with the individuals served through the partner services program and be able to relay medical information about STD/HIV transmission to staff, the general public, and medical providers
- Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant

Pay
The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.
