Job Responsibilities
- Cook up all material control systems, inbound/outbound shipments, and materials handling activities and inventory control primarily from the shop floor.
- Cook up all material handler activities.
- Cook up activities for warehouse layout.
- Train, coach, and develop the material handling team.
- Implement and assist in developing cycle counting and pull system for each commodity.
- Manage/coordinate the receiving and DMR processes.
- Input incoming receipts on a regular timely basis.
- Manage the process of outbound shipments.
- Cook up all customs compliance requirements.
- Observe Materials/Production operations within their area of control to ascertain compliance with methods, quality standards, safety regulations, 5’s and Production/Materials Standards.
- Efficiently operate equipment: take corrective action to eliminate any deviation.
- Maintain and revise visual inventory benchmarks standards.
- Daily coordinate Production build schedules.
- Daily conduct floor walks.
- Liaison between Materials and Productions.
- Cook up any outside warehouse activities.
- Run RPS history reports and cumulative reports verifying receipts have been collected in RPS file.
- Manage the process of supplier cum reconciliation.
- Monitor system for accurately tracking Truckload Utilization (TUMS).
- Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to product, process, and quality system.
- Manage and maintain onsite replenishment of Trailers (Shelve).
- Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process, and quality system.
- Initiate, recommend, and provide solutions through designated channels.
- Control further processing, delivery, or installation of non-conforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
- Actively participate in Health/Safety/Environmental investigations and the 8D process in order to develop root cause analysis for problem resolution as required.
- Report accidents, occupational illnesses, and HSE&E emergencies, and inform supervisor of known HSE&E conditions which could adversely affect other team members, assets or to the public.
- Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and ensure safe working procedures in assigned material areas.
Qualifications/Requirements
- 2+ Years Materials Supervision inside Manufacturing - Automotive (Preferred)
- Strong Analytical & Formal Problem Solving Skills
- Strong understanding of EDI & ASN
- Proficient with Microsoft Applications - Excel
- Proficient with ERP Systems - QAD (Preferred)
