Safety

Safely follows plant safety procedures and guidelines; wears and utilizes personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Informs supervisor of safety issues; reports any workplace injury or incident immediately.

Follows plant quality practices including Good Manufacturing Practices, or GMP’s.

Tasks

  • Maintains scheduled production and leads team to achieve planned schedule attainment goals.
  • Coordinates troubleshooting efforts to maximize machine efficiency.
  • Manages labor costs by maximizing employee productivity.
  • Makes recommendations to Maintenance Manager to improve production efficiencies.
  • Conducts technical training and mentoring of technicians and other employees.
  • Prioritizes and follows-up on designated maintenance activities.
  • Communicates and updates other supervisors and managers on productivity of team.
  • Aids Maintenance Manager in developing, implementing, and monitoring PM program across all areas of the manufacturing plant.
  • Directly supervises a team of Maintenance Technicians.
  • Communicates daily with other supervisors, Local Supply/Demand Chain Group, and Maintenance Manager.
  • Coordinates with Maintenance Manager, the planning and work of special projects, machine modifications, and installations.
  • Aids Maintenance Manager in monitoring, and controlling unnecessary expenses, as well as maintaining adequate inventories of stock materials/spare parts.
  • Maintains Work Order database; maintains machine histories and logs.
  • Balances and coordinates resources by assigning work, employee training activities, employee time-off, overtime, back-up for absent employees, and shift rotations.
  • Monitors and reports compliance to policies/budgets/key performance indicators.
  • Verifies and validates that work areas are cleaned and organized at end of shift.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in related maintenance activities, with at least 1 to 3 years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Mentoring abilities.
  • Highly motivated, energetic, and enthusiastic; must be driven to keep busy.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate information to other employees.
  • Understand concepts of plastic manufacturing process.
