About the role

As a Material Specialist, you will accurately receive, store, and distribute materials to ensure smooth production operations. This role maintains inventory accuracy to keep operations running efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, unload, and examine incoming materials to verify accuracy against purchase orders and shipping documents, reporting any discrepancies.
  • Store materials in designated areas using material-handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) and update storage locations as needed.
  • Retrieve and distribute materials to the production floor promptly and accurately.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate inventory records within the ERP system.
  • Safely move materials throughout the warehouse to the production line.
  • Adhere to safety procedures, including proper lifting methods and equipment operation protocols.
  • Participate in monthly cycle counts and the annual physical inventory process.
  • Keep the warehouse and workspaces clean, organized, and compliant with company and safety standards.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to operate material-handling equipment (forklift certification required).
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory systems and Microsoft Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 lbs. and stand or walk for extended periods (five plus hours).
  • Work in a fast-paced warehouse manufacturing setting with exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and equipment.
  • May require overtime, shift work, or weekend hours dependent on production needs.
