About the role

We are looking for a Materials Manager based in Wendell, NC. Relocation assistance is available. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Plant Operational Materials team, providing day-to-day leadership and management support to the team, and meeting material availability, cost, inventory, quality, and supplier management targets.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor Materials Team to ensure that all plant needs regarding material availability and inventory requirements are balanced and in the correct alignment
  • Partner with commodity management to develop, implement and maintain supply chain strategies that align plant needs with commodity strategies
  • Establish and maintain measurable performance metrics for the Materials Management activities at the plant
  • Manage systems and processes to support inventory forecasting, material and capacity planning, scheduling, cost control and make vs. buy decisions
  • Identify, develop and manage relationships with existing and potential suppliers to meet quality, delivery, and cost targets
  • Collaborate with Sourcing, Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality to achieve cost reduction targets
  • Develop and implement robust material strategies that anticipate future demand fluctuations and support new product launches, ensuring continuity of supply and cost efficiency during high-growth phases
  • Collaborate closely with Production Planning, Engineering, and Sales to ensure material availability aligns with evolving production forecasts and customer demand during periods of significant growth

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a BS degree in business, management, or other related fields, and 5+ years’ experience in management of materials and procurement. They will also have working knowledge of MRP systems, SAP proficiency, and strong analytical problem-solving ability. A Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field is preferred, as is CSCP or CPIM certification.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $91,463 - $156,794, with a 10% bonus potential.
