Duties
- Ensure the movement, to include the safe receipt and storage, of ammunition and explosive materials in accordance with facility and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to in the use of equipment.
- Organize items in the storage area for maximum convenience of handling and ease of movement.
- Assure ammunition is loaded by class in accordance with loading and storage charges per regulations.
- Transport materials from receiving areas to storage or from storage areas to appropriate office.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position may require the incumbent to Travel for temporary duty (TDY) up to 5% of the time.
- This position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968.
- Persons convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence are not eligible for the position.
- This position is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program and requires the incumbent to pass urinalysis periodically throughout the employment periodically thereafter.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a valid state and U.S. Government driver's license.
- Incumbent must obtain and maintain fork lift operator license.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year trial period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 11.
Qualifications
- Ability to do the work of an Materials Handler (Motor Vehicle Operator/ Forklift Operator) without more than normal supervision.
- I can 1) Verify accuracy of supplies received and reporting discrepancies; 2) Store, issue, and ship various items such as ammunition; and 3) Account for shipments received of various items to include small arms ammunition and other ammunition items.
- Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
