Materials Handler

Job Description

The Material Handler performs duties necessary to move finished goods from the quarantine warehouse into the finished goods warehouse. This includes scanning material into inventory and warehouse locations in BPCS, unloading the conveyors coming from the packaging room, transferring finished goods bags and drums from plastic pallets to wood pallets for shipment, and sending plastic pallets and packaging materials into the packaging room.

Essential Functions

• Must be able to proficiently operate a gas or battery forklift.
• Loads and unloads pallets as needed and moves them to and from the warehouse.
• Moves finished goods into warehouse locations and records activity using a bar-code scanner.
• Movement into warehouse locations involves placing bulk bags into storage racks or stacking pallets of drums.
• Should be able to lift 60-75 pounds.
• Must have a valid Driver’s license.
• Must be able to wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, steel-toe shoes, gloves, and other PPE as deemed necessary by EH&S, leadership team, corporate, or safety guidelines.

• Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.
• Exhibits good documentation practices.
• Completes cGMP training.
• Maintains departmental housekeeping.
• Identifies and reports maintenance issues.

Education

• Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Preferred Skills/Qualifications: Demonstrated process knowledge of the area, strong computer skills, Microsoft Office, and documentation, action-oriented, informing, and organizing skills, learning on the fly, relationship with others/scope.

Working Conditions

• The plant's open-air construction exposes personnel to the normal year-round outside climate.
• Some relief from the elements is available in the control rooms and break areas.
• Must be able to physically climb stairs and evacuation ladders and roll drums from one pallet to another.
• Must be able to work overtime as needed.
