Job Summary

Gelest, Inc., part of the Mitsubishi Chemical Group, is seeking a Materials Engineer - Advanced Deposition Technology to contribute to the company's growth in specialty materials. Reporting to the Advanced Deposition Technology Center of Excellence (COE), this role involves supporting the development, optimization, and characterization of advanced thin-film and lithographic materials.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the development, optimization, and characterization of advanced thin-film and lithographic materials within the Advanced Deposition Technology Center of Excellence (COE).
  • Collaborates with scientists, engineers, and cross-functional technical teams to perform wafer coating, thin-film deposition, lithography process development, and materials characterization activities.
  • Maintains high reproducibility in nanometer-scale film deposition and processing environments.
  • Requires strong laboratory discipline, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain high reproducibility in nanometer-scale film deposition and processing environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in materials science, thin-film deposition, or similar field.
  • Experience with thin-film deposition techniques such as sputtering, evaporation, and chemical vapor deposition (CVD).
  • Knowledge of semiconductor fabrication processes and materials characterization techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience with advanced thin-film deposition techniques and materials characterization methods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Skills

  • Proficiency in thin-film deposition techniques such as sputtering, evaporation, and CVD.
  • Experience with materials characterization techniques including X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and atomic force microscopy (AFM).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
