This Material Coordinator role is based at our Tire and Wheel Facility on the Second Shift (2:30pm - 11pm). Material Coordinators are responsible for coordinating and expediting the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between sections or departments according to production and shipping schedules or department priorities. You will compile and maintain records, review production schedules, and work with customer and plant leadership to determine material requirements, identify overdue materials, and track material.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage inventory levels using the ERP System in conjunction with the 5 Alarm system and visual Min/Max alerts to prevent interruptions to production activities.
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with customers regarding material issues.
  • Support receiving and production activities to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Analyze and investigate material variances to identify root causes and implement corrective actions with support from the Cycle Counting process.
  • Perform inventory counts or other tasks as requested by the customer.
  • Identify and suggest areas for continuous improvement within the plant (e.g., signage, layouts, systems, plant organization) with department and cross-functional teams.
  • Coordinate Hot Shots.
  • Monitor and analyze OSR.
  • Follow and assist with adherence to and management of plant safety protocols.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma.
  • 3+ years of experience and demonstrated success in Business, Materials Management, or Supply Chain Management/Logistics.
  • No travel required.

  • Tact and ability to reconcile accounts.
  • Demonstrated and creative ability to solve problems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite of software, particularly MS Excel and use of spreadsheets for managing and analyzing data.
