As the Materials Assistant, you will facilitate all fabric and trim development, partnering with cross-functional teams to support the execution of seasonal fabric and trim developments that meet aesthetic requirements and align with sourcing strategy and cost targets.
Responsibilities
- Prepare fabric packages and send them to potential mills/vendors for sourcing
- Prepare packages for lab dips and strike-offs for material development
- Perform all development fabric and garment testing and corresponding data tracking
- Manage all development files, seasonal recaps, and process statuses
- Manage all fabric submissions, developments, and approvals
- Maintain fabric & trim data entry in Centric PLM
- Maintain fabric and trim reference libraries for existing and future garments
- Maintain lab dips and strike-offs files
- Wash & measure samples as needed
- Track samples with vendors
- Receive and distribute packages within the materials department/team
- Assist with data entry projects, as needed
Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Applications
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Knowledge of fabric construction
- Knowledge of garment fit and pattern alterations
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to measure garments
- Ability to prioritize workflow based on deadlines
- Ability to problem-solve and communicate all issues to cross-functional departments
- Ability to travel internationally
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or technical trade school and equivalent
- Minimum 1-year experience in accessories and apparel product development
Pay
$17.21 - $25.77 USD hourly
