Schedule

40 hours per week
7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (Works every other weekend and holidays)

Pay

$21.75 per hour (non-negotiable). This is a non-exempt position, meaning you are eligible for overtime.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, issue, deliver, check, and document linen and medical/surgical supplies provided by Materials Management.
  • Issue supplies and equipment from storeroom, central sterile processing, and vendor source shipments.
  • Label/identify products as needed for charging and identification, and place into appropriate storage locations, including authorized access to Clean Utility Rooms in all clinical areas.
  • Replenish Materials Management departmental inventories.
  • Accurately count and maintain supply and linen levels as established by management.
  • Respond to customer requests for supplies and linen needs via verbal, written, phone, pager, or PowerChart.
  • Complete work from the previous shift to accommodate department schedules.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area, demonstrating ownership over assigned route.
  • Perform routine assessment for expired product and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Take inventory of linen and supplies, and request needed items through in-house or vendor systems.
  • Use manual and automated systems to place orders, record activity, and issue credits.
  • Maintain accurate logs and records for all processes.
  • Rotate through various MSC II assignments as needed for cross-training.
  • Dispense and deliver materials via tube system, elevator, and/or using hand or power equipment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School diploma or acceptable equivalent.

Preferred:

  • At least 1 year of experience with materials handling, preferably in a healthcare environment.

Northwestern Medicine conducts a background check that includes criminal history on newly hired team members and, at times, internal transfers.
