Material Project Assistant
About the role
The Undersea Systems Division at Leidos currently has an opening for a Material Project Assistant in San Diego, CA. The successful candidate will work directly with Program Managers and their teams to complete the submission of material quotes and track purchase requests. This position requires a Secret DoD clearance and an onsite 9/80B schedule.
Responsibilities
- Commit orders via Costpoint, SciQuest, and Purchasing Card (Pcard).
- Create Purchase Requisitions (PRs) for Subcontract Labor and Material Purchase Orders (POs).
- Support Program Managers and their teammates generating Purchase Request Forms (PRFs) and routes for respective approval.
- Initiate Procurement Purchase Requests (PPRs) to request Warranted Buyer quotes and POs.
- Reconcile and submit accurate and timely biweekly Transaction Detail Reports via US Bank Access One.
- Track status of orders from start to finish, maintaining current input to Program Manager Material Spreadsheets.
- Communicate with vendors to keep delivery dates up to date.
- Track and complete Goods Receipts; upload artifacts in Contracts Document Management System Plus (CDMS+).
- Ensure timely placement of orders to support required delivery dates; alert requesters of known issues and reconcile issues with successful solutions.
- Work with other Material Project Assistants, backing up workload as needed.
Qualifications
- Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain a Secret DoD clearance.
- High School diploma or equivalent and 5+ years or prior relevant experience.
- Strong organization and communication skills.
- Experience working with Government Contract Procurement preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Costpoint / One Trust / Ivalua and Material Resource Planning (MRP).
- Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
- Proficiency in MS Office Applications, especially Excel.
Physical Ability
To navigate lab, office, and warehouse environments — with the ability to stoop, kneel, reach for extended periods, and transport objects weighing up to 50 lbs. across the facility. Use hands to operate computer equipment.
