Material Handler (Water Spider)
Biomerics provides contract manufacturing, laser processing, and finishing services to a wide range of industries with a strong commitment to customer service. We specialize in challenging machined and micromachined components, including those used in interventional and medical robotics applications. Our core competency lies in smaller medical components produced with high accuracy and repeatability, utilizing Swiss machining with integrated laser cutting, five-axis milling, and traditional Swiss screw machining.
About the role
The Material Handler (Water Spider) is a newly created position tasked with keeping workstations fully stocked with materials to control the continuous flow of in-process product and enhance labor productivity and efficiency. The role focuses on material delivery to the production line and work-in-progress (WIP) management, aiming to shorten process lead time and reduce waste.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the efficient flow of material from inventory locations to the production line.
- Pull material and/or kits and verify all materials are present for production to begin.
- Manage the visual management (color indicators) of carts using an appropriate color-coding scheme.
- Manage WIP materials to ensure efficient flow between departments and operations.
- Access master documentation to verify and ensure the most up-to-date documentation is available and being used.
- Transport segregated and non-conforming material to the MRB location and perform necessary system transactions.
- Transport finished goods from the production line to final inspection.
- Ensure material is available at the production line at the beginning of each shift.
- Serve as a “utility” player for the overall operations team, occasionally performing duties outside the bounds of this description.
Requirements
- Previous production experience required (on-the-job training will be provided specific to the product line).
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Team player mindset.
Work Environment
The role involves occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, high or precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Physical Demands
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and talk or hear.
- Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Pay
$23 - $25 per hour.
