Material Handler - Shift: 7Am to 7PM (Urgent Need)

8-month contract position (W2) in Covington, GA. 40 hours per week, rotating crew schedule of 7 AM to 7 PM. US Citizens or Green Card holders only.

About the Role

Uses a variety of equipment such as forklifts, conveyors, cranes, handcarts, and power trucks to move materials, parts, assemblies, and finished products or goods within a plant, office, or warehouse. May maintain records.

Develops skills in basic tasks, techniques, and procedures within one skill area, process, or method. Applies basic knowledge and skills to complete routine tasks consisting of prescribed steps. Works within clearly defined SOPs and/or scientific methods and adheres to quality guidelines. Works under general to limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Move materials, parts, assemblies, and finished products within a plant, office, or warehouse using equipment such as forklifts, conveyors, cranes, handcarts, and power trucks.
• Maintain records as required.
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality guidelines.
• Perform routine tasks under general to limited supervision.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Zero to one year of warehouse experience or related experience and/or training.
• Knowledge of RF Scanner is helpful but not required.
• Obtains and/or maintains appropriate licenses, training, or certifications as needed.
• Basic skills training in an analytical/scientific method or operational process area (e.g., material handling and management, logistics, manufacturing production).
• Effective communication skills to ensure understanding by co-workers and Team Lead/Supervisor.
• Ability to read, write, interpret, and comprehend documents written in English and perform basic math calculations.
• Ability to perform/operate in a metrics-driven environment.
• General computer skills.

• Lifting and/or moving over 50 lbs may be required.
• Exposure to work near moving mechanical parts, extreme weather conditions, and vibration.
• Occasional exposure to high, precarious places and fumes/airborne particles.
• Works in hot conditions during summer months (no AC) and cold conditions during winter months (limited heating).
• Noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.

Pay

$16–20 per hour.
