Material Handler III

About the Role

Emerson has an exciting opportunity for a Material Handler III at our Olive Branch, MS distribution center. As a Powered Equipment Operator (Reach Truck) on the 1st or 2nd shift, you will safely and efficiently handle materials throughout the warehouse—stocking incoming items, performing replenishments, and picking orders using powered equipment such as reach trucks and pallet jacks. You’ll play a key part in maintaining productivity and ensuring smooth operations.

Shift schedules and pay:

• 1st Shift: Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
• 2nd Shift: Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM, includes a $1.48 per hour shift differential

Responsibilities

• Move product within the warehouse using motorized equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, order selectors, or reach lifts
• Stock incoming items, replenish flow racks, and pick orders using RF equipment
• Create cartons and labels prior to shipping
• Maintain productivity minimum standards with a sense of urgency
• Adhere to all safety rules, policies, and procedures
• Replenish orders as necessary to support operations
• Supply cardboard boxes and bags for departments
• Maintain safe actions on and off equipment in compliance with all safety rules/regulations required by Emerson, federal, state, and local provisions
• Meet department quality, attendance, and productivity requirements
• Perform necessary housekeeping duties to maintain a clean work environment
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• Prior reach lift experience with at least 6 months of previous warehouse experience
• Previous shipping/receiving/material handling experience
• Ability to operate a forklift safely
• Must pass forklift certifications and requirements to operate forklifts
• Must pass a non-DOT physical exam
• Legal authorization to work in the United States (sponsorship will not be provided)

Physical Requirements

• Able to lift parts weighing more than 50 pounds (assistance available when needed)
• Work in bending, squatting, and standing positions for prolonged periods
• Occasionally reaching, pushing, pulling, grasping, banding, stretching, bending, and standing frequently
• Ability to work quickly while meeting productivity and quality standards
• Ability to work overtime when necessary

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using RF equipment to move product
• Strong teamwork skills with a proven track record of collaborating in a fast-paced warehouse environment
• Hands-on experience and ability to perform cross-functional work in different areas
