MATERIAL HANDLER I 2nd Shift (Sunnyvale, Texas, United States, 75182)

About the role

Join the largest manufacturer of tile and natural stone in the United States as an entry-level Material Handler I at Dal-Tile, a subsidiary of Mohawk Industries. This position is ideal for an eager and motivated individual with basic warehouse experience and the ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Operates various powered industrial trucks to pick customer orders and convey orders to packing station or shipping area.
• Performs warehouse duties such as pulling/assembling customer orders, checking outbound orders for accuracy/completeness, inventory stock checks, restocking and labeling vendor products, maintaining displays, moving, storing, and replenishing material, and conducting daily cycle counts.
• Performs receiving duties including receiving and unloading inbound material, processing inbound shipments, stocking material, processing customer returns, and notifying management of damaged shipments for freight claims.
• Operates forklift and order picker equipment.
• Maintains a clean and organized facility by sweeping, trash removal, restroom, and general office maintenance.
• Maintains a safe working environment by obeying all safety rules and reporting accidents, unsafe conditions, and acts to management.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent experience.
• 1-year Sit-Down Forklift Operator experience required.
• 1-year previous warehouse experience preferred.
• Must be Dal-Tile certified to operate powered industrial trucks.
• Ability to understand and speak basic English.
• Ability to work in a safe and conscientious manner.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Good record-keeping and listening skills.
• Accurate measurement capability.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms.
• Required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• May be required to sit, climb, or balance.
• Must lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
• Average picks per hour: 25, with average weight between 40-70 lbs (heavier picks 50-70 lbs constitute 65% of the work shift; lighter items 20-40 lbs constitute 35%).
• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and a wide range of temperatures.
• Noise level is usually loud.

Pay

Entry Rate: $18.54 per hour with a $0.50 increase after 3 months, reaching $19.66 per hour. Shift differential applies for 2nd shift.

Schedule

2nd shift: Monday - Friday, 4:30 PM - 1:00 AM.
