Material Handler I - 2nd Shift

About the role

Reporting to the Warehouse and Shipping Coordinator, the Material Handler I is responsible for providing high quality, efficient, and timely operation in the Shipping and Receiving Department. Tasks include learning and managing both raw and finished good inventory, ensuring safety in the workplace, completing daily forklift inspection reports, verifying product tags, markings, and labels, preparing labels and COAs for shipments, moving materials between plant and warehouse, loading and unloading transport trailers, processing associated paperwork, verifying inventory levels, assisting with inventory counting, maintaining cleanliness, and following good housekeeping procedures.

Responsibilities

• Safety in the workplace is paramount. Operate forklifts and clamp trucks safely according to procedures.
• Complete daily forklift inspection report (OSHA requirement).
• Provide safe, effective, and efficient goods delivery while maintaining positive customer relations.
• Check and verify product tags, markings, and labels for accuracy during loading or unloading trailers.
• Prepare labels and COAs for shipments.
• Moves materials between plant and warehouse and to other shipping/storage areas.
• Loads and unloads transport trailers and processes associated paperwork.
• Verifies inventory levels and assists with inventory counting; arranges and sorts warehouse stock.
• Maintains cleanliness of the area and follows good housekeeping procedures.
• Performs all duties in a manner that demonstrates the highest level of safety and quality.
• May perform overtime and weekend work as required.

• Proven record of success in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work with various teams and have a good eye to spot defects during the shipping and receiving process.
