The Material Handler – Forklift Operator

Employee Classification:

• Non-exempt, Full-Time, Union

Reports To:

• Warehouse Supervisor

Hours:

• Monday through Friday
• 8:00 am to 4:30 pm

Responsibilities

• Operates forklift to move various materials from one location to another, both on the floor and in storage racks.
• Alerts supervisors immediately when inventory quantities are low, cartons are damaged, or scan guns are malfunctioning.
• Scans skids moved from any location to the new location to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Wraps pallets securely for transport.
• Buils stable skids to meet shipping standards.
• Aids the order fillers when needed.
• Ensures the correct product and quantities are pulled to fulfill customer orders.
• Applies shipping labels to cartons.
• Keeps work area clean and organized.
• Is reliable and punctual in reporting for work as scheduled.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to pass our forklift operation test to verify experience, efficiency, and safety
• Ability to follow instructions
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Resilient with a positive attitude
• Self-motivated and solid work ethic
• Willingness to learn and take direction
• Mandatory overtime work may be required

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred; not required
• At least one year of previous forklift operation experience
• Loading dock experience preferred; not required
• Previous inventory experience preferred (scanning, etc.); not required
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted
• Continuous standing, lifting, and bending when not on a forklift
• Frequent pushing and pulling when not on a forklift
