Material Handler - Forklift Operator

About the role

Join BlueLinx, a leading wholesale distributor of building and industrial products in the United States. As a Material Handler/Forklift Operator, you'll play a crucial role in our dynamic team at our distribution center.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift in compliance with forklift training and safety guidelines.
• Load/unload/store building materials from trailers or rail cars while minimizing damage.
• Store and retrieve material (piece pick and/or bulk).
• Prepare the paperwork required for distribution and shipping of products.
• Perform daily inspection and maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in working and assigned area.
• Absorb and assist in periodic inventory counts as requested.

Requirements

• One year or recent forklift/warehouse experience.
• Proficient and safe use of forklift to transport products, load/unload trucks.
• Ability to understand and follow directions.
• Ability to work independently at times under pressure.
• Ability to handle physical tasks, such as lifting up to 75 lbs.
• Read and comprehend sales orders, purchase orders, safety material, etc.
• Safe work record and stable work history.

Pay

The fixed wage offered is $21.20 per hour, plus a $3,000 SIGN ON Bonus paid over the first 6 months. The actual compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, skills, and other job-related considerations.

Schedule

This position offers a Monday - Friday workweek with a consistent schedule.
