Job Summary

We are a metal stamping facility seeking forklift drivers to support our production lines on 1st & 3rd shifts.

Hours & Pay

  • 1st Shift: 5:55 AM - 4 PM, Monday-Thursday, plus overtime as needed
  • 3rd Shift: 9:55 PM - 6 AM, Sunday-Thursday, plus overtime as needed
  • Base Pay: $17.30 per hour plus $1.50 per hour shift differential for 3rd shift

Job Duties

  • Move parts in/out of rack system to support manufacturing and record these moves in the computer (QAD)
  • Evaluate inventory accuracy of rack system daily to ensure entire system is inventoried each week
  • Evaluate supporting location to ensure accuracy of inventory, if applicable
  • Develop shipping manifests (i.e. bill of lading, packing lists)
  • Maintain an adequate supply of raw materials, corrugates, cargoes, and/or related items for production areas to ensure continuous operations
  • Return unused/excess materials to proper inventory locations and record movements in proper manner
  • Move finished items from production area(s) to proper inventory and/or shipping locations, and record movements in proper manner
  • Load finished goods on trucks as required
  • Unload raw materials and other received items from trucks and move to proper inventory or line locations, and record movement in proper manner
  • Move scrap and waste materials (hazardous and non-hazardous) to specified hold areas and/or load for transport
  • Perform and record daily preventive maintenance and checks on lift truck, to include: necessary charging/fueling, lubrication, safety checks, etc.
  • Report out of service lift trucks to supervisor and lift truck mechanic
  • Maintain all records as required, i.e. production reports, scrap reporting, downtime records, quality measures, maintenance work orders, Factivity, etc.
  • Absorb and prestage dies as needed
  • Comply with safety standards: Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Equipment Safety Analysis (ESA) and Area Safety Analysis (ASA)
  • Ensure that job is run in environmental compliance as per instructions from supervisor/environmental group
  • Perform routine housekeeping in work area(s) as necessary
  • And other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Experience in Forklift operating
  • High school level reading and writing skills
  • Mechanical aptitude and dexterity
  • Tow motor/lift truck license
  • Computer skills required (QAD)
  • Basic math
  • Basic hand tools

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Repeated lifting, packing of items (3 to 6 lbs.)
  • Requires some heavy lifting, up to 50 lbs. of a non-repetitive nature
  • Work with sharp tools and sharp edges on parts
  • Attention to detail in inspection
  • Must work as part of a work team
  • Requires standing, walking and/or moving about for time periods in excess of one (1) hour
  • Requires some sort of repetitive turning and/or lifting motions to be performed
  • Work overtime as needed
  • Work with pressure of meeting schedules, personnel issues, changing priorities
  • Basic computer/PC knowledge/skills preferred
  • Perform position requirements while wearing eye, foot and/or other protective devices as required
